Leaving the Nest
“You have to get out of your comfort zone in order to grow.”
– Octavia Spencer
This little bird is leaving the nest again…
Here we are, already in early September!! I hope you have had a super summer and are gearing up for a fantastic fall season!
I have been writing up a storm these past few months in my cozy little home and garden in Qualicum Beach.
I love my current routine:
I wake up at 4am, have coffee and quiet time, then do yoga…then write and do other computer work tasks until early afternoon. Then I head to the beach for a walk and swim, then home to nap, then dinner and more yoga and/or putter in my garden, then read before bed.
Writer’s Heaven!
And now that my uber-productive routine is firmly established and I am happy as a clam in my comfort zone, it’s time to shake things up again…and leave the nest! Gonna take my writing show on the road and head out into the big bad (and good) world to see the sights, eat the souvlaki and sample a few men. Ahahahaha!
First stop is Eastern Canada to see family & friends, then I am heading to Greece for a month, island hopping and writing with my friend Lynne. Yay! Then a few more stops in Europe & the UK and then…well, I will just do my darndest to post blogs somewhat regularly during my travels 🙂
From a work & writing perspective, I know my productivity does decrease when I am traveling and my routine is constantly changing. But on the flipside, my creativity and clarity take a quantum leap…seeing all the different sights & meeting new people.
Getting a bigger perspective on the outer world gives us a better perspective on our inner world. Click To TweetI am extremely grateful to be able TO travel at this stage in my life…and am leaping through this glorious window of opportunity, curious to see where I land!
How about you? What are your autumn plans?Â
“Close your eyes and imagine the best version of you possible. That’s who you really are, let go of any part of you that doesn’t believe it.”
– C. Assaad
