“One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure.”

– William Feather

Just wanted to share a few snaps from my Nov/Dec 2022 travel/writing adventure to the Bahamas (Eleuthera) and Chicago with my awesome friend, Lynne!

For the first leg of our journey, we stayed ten nights with a friend of mine, Sherelle, who lives in Greencastle on the island of Eleuthera.

Sherelle is preparing to launch her “Live with a Local” program in which she hosts travelers (women only) in her home. I first stayed at Sherelle’s place in 2019…here is the link to read that blog.

Sherelle is a kind, gracious & very knowledgeable host! She took us to what are, I suspect, some of the most beautiful beaches in the world…which we had pretty much entirely to ourselves!

Sherelle’s “Live with a Local” program is geared for women who are traveling on a budget, are interested in staying with a local Bahamian for a short period of time, and are keen to explore Eleuthera with a knowledgeable guide.

If you are interested in learning more about Sherelle’s “Live with a Local” program, you can contact her directly at: enchantmentgiftshop@hotmail.com.

After Sherelle’s, Lynne and I headed to my beloved Pineapple Fields boutique hotel (near Governor’s Harbour on Eleuthera) and spent 5 nights there.

Here are a few photos from our time in the Bahamas:

As for Chicago, that is Lynne’s hometown and her mom & aunt still live there, so we stopped in for a visit on our way back home…and Lynne showed me some of her fav haunts!

Here are a couple snaps from the Chicago leg of our journey:

And, perhaps not surprisingly 🙂 the Universe delivered to me yet another screenplay idea…about our warm, wacky & wild adventure! The script is tentatively entitled, “Bahamas Mamas” and it will be a COMEDY!

In the meantime…

Here is the link to view a sassy little travel video I whipped about our Bahamas/Chicago adventure (3 min). Enjoy!

After our trip, I had a delightfully relaxing & restorative few weeks at home in Qualicum Beach over the holidays. Heaven!

This week, I am hitting the road again for 10 days…heading to Orcas Island (San Juan islands) to dog sit (and write, of course) for friends!

Take care, stay well & here’s to a fantastic 2023!!
