“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life — and travel — leaves marks on you. Most of the time, those marks — on your body or on your heart — are beautiful.”

Anthony Bourdain

I hope this blog finds you happy & healthy!

I am having a whale of time on this journey! SO much beauty in this world!!

I started in Hawaii (Hilo on the Big Island) visiting my dear friend, Nina Shipman Bremer. We had a ball! And we got plenty of work done, too! We made tremendous headway on the “God’s Country” script (limited series) about silent screen star, Nell Shipman, in the five days we had together. Nina is Nell’s granddaughter.

Then I continued on to Fiji and did a mega deep dive (of the writing kind) into the script for another five days. It was awesome!!

But first, here are a few photos from Hawaii:

After Hawaii, I headed to Fiji…

Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved Fiji! The people were super friendly. The snorkeling was unbelievable. The food was awesome! The scenery is stunning.

I can’t wait to go back and explore more!

Interestingly, the reason I went to Fiji in the first place was because of this hourglass:

John went to New Zealand back when he was about 21 or 22 (circa 1990) and brought me this timer/hourglass back. I have had it in my kitchen ever since…as a reminder that time is passing and life goes fast!

Visiting Fiji has been on my bucket list ever since he gave me this hourglass all those years ago…so this was the year I finally went to see Fiji for myself 🙂

Here are a few Fiji photos:

Met this guy, Stephan (from Holland), on the catamaran ferry from Port Denarau to the Yasawa group of islands

This is my little bure (beach hut) at Manta Ray Resort (where I got an awful lot of fantastic writing done, let me tell you!):

The stunning view from my bure!

Downtime 🙂

Quintessential Fiji!

That’s it for now! I am in Perth, Australia at the moment…just spent five days visiting family. We had a blast! I’ll post those photos next…when I can. I am heading to Bali tomorrow 🙂

Take care, stay well & happy spring!
