Maryanne “The Scribe” Pope – CEO & Writer
Maryanne is the Founder & CEO of Pink Gazelle Productions and the Board Chair of the John Petropoulos Memorial Fund. She is the author of A Widow’s Awakening and the upcoming book, Barrier Removed; A Tough Love Guide to Achieving Your Dreams. Maryanne also writes blogs, essays, screenplays and playscripts. She is the executive producer of the Whatever Floats Your Boat…Perspectives on Motherhood documentary and the Put Yourself in Boots workplace safety campaign. Maryanne graduated from the University of Calgary with a BA in General Studies in 1992. She now lives in Sidney, BC.
Sarah “I Can Handle It” Hourihan – Marketing & Admin
Sarah has an M.B.A. from the Haskayne School of Business. For the past twenty years she has taught high school in Calgary, raised four daughters alongside her husband Graham, and more recently works in business and marketing research. Sarah has a B.A. (Political Science) a B. Ed. and attended the University of Calgary Faculty of Law. A native Albertan, Sarah and her family spend their summers in the beautiful Okanagan, and the rest of the year at home in Calgary, AB.
Neil “The Design Guy” Gilbert – Website & Graphics
Neil Gilbert has been happily helping Pink Gazelle Productions with design and web stuff since the beginning. His professional imagination is licensed by SAIT Polytechnic and offered commercially through Elbowroom Design, a Calgary graphic and web design studio. Neil lives in Calgary with his wife Lauren. During his time off he enjoys sports, travel, and reading.
Shannon “Eagle Eye” Lyons – Editing
Shannon brings over 20 years of writing and editing experience to the table. Creating vivid wordscapes is her passion and she also relishes the challenge of editing content for maximum results while maintaining its original integrity. Shannon is currently studying for her editing certification with the Editors’ Association of Canada to support her formal education in communications, public relations, marketing, and design gained from the University of Calgary, Mount Royal College/University, and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Kathryn “Pit Bull” Bechtold – Publicity
Kathryn Bechthold is the original founder of The Mompreneur Magazine, a national magazine for women balancing motherhood and entrepreneurialism. Since deciding to sell The Mompreneur, she has written a book for Entrepreneurial Moms called “The Entrepreneurial Moms Guide To Running Her Own Business” and has opened Alchemy Communications Inc, a firm focused on building public profiles for entrepreneurial women.
Jim “The Bean Counter” Barrette – Accounting
Jim has worked with both Pink Gazelle Productions and the John Petropoulos Fund since 2002. Jim is a Registered Public Accountant and through his company, ADI Accounting & Tax Services, provides financial accounting, financial statements and corporate tax services to a number of small businesses in various industries. Prior to this, Jim held a variety of senior financial accounting and taxation positions in the corporate community, spanning some 30 years altogether. Jim lives in Calgary with his wife, Lynda.
