My Way

“I’ve lived a life that’s full. I’ve traveled each and every highway. And more, much more than this, I did it my way.”

– from My Way song, performed by Frank Sinatra, lyrics by Paul Anka

Whether you know me – or knew my Mom – or not, I thought you might enjoy watching this photo tribute to my Mom, Mary Grace Pope. The video was created by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes and was shown at my Mom’s Celebration of Life service in Calgary in March 2014.

Set to the powerful song, My Way, the tribute might even get you thinking about your own life and what legacy you wish to leave behind 🙂

“I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried. I’ve had my fill…my share of losing. And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing. To think I did all that and may I say, not in a shy way…oh no, oh no not me. I did it my way.”

– from My Way song, performed by Frank Sinatra, lyrics by Paul Anka

  1. Thank you do much for sharing the video. It captured some
great pics of your mom. It really showed an adventurous spirit
outside the aircraft and in the outdoors! She sure looked like
she enjoyed life to the fullest. I remember your nana, too!
Your mom looks much like her.

  2. Maryanne. That was a great video. Lots of great memories.
It reminds me of my mom, she does it her way too.

  3. I think the most complicated, fascinating, tumultuous, wonderfully special relationship of all humans is that of a daughter and mother. Whenever my mother does something that gets on my nerves I always remind myself that unfortunately, there will likely come a time when she is no longer with me. And I would give ANYTHING in the world to have her back for just a moment, getting on my nerves. And with that realization, I smile. And know that my love for her outweighs my frustration. Thanks for sharing the video and your memories. This is a wonderful way to remember the most special woman in your life. Not every woman will have a child, but every child has a mother.

  4. Wonderful feedback, Sherelle…thank you! You are so wise to treasure the time you have with your Mom, flaws and all 🙂
    Maryanne
